Growing up in a family of seven children and the son of successful hardworking parents, I understand the value of hard work and dedication.  A graduate of SUNY Cortland with a degree in Economics and Marketing, I have been a highly successful mortgage loan originator for more than 36 years, and am licensed in the states of Connecticut and Florida.


I use my extensive knowledge in residential mortgage lending to help people who have one common interest: becoming a homeowner.  I also help individuals and families secure refinancing opportunities to lower their monthly payments or consolidate debt.  An important part of my business is to educate my clients throughout the mortgage process so they can make informed decisions.

I take great pride in providing exceptional customer service, consistent communication, and strong attention to detail, and in ensuring a positive experience for all parties involved in a transaction – buyers, sellers, real estate agents, and closing agents.

I got my start as a mortgage professional in 1981. After working for a major New York bank, I co-founded Guaranty Federal in 1989.

In my nearly 40 years in the business, I have closed literally thousands of mortgages, and am a member of the Connecticut Mortgage Brokers Association (CMBA) and the National Association of Mortgage Brokers (NAMB). I am licensed in Connecticut.


As both a Certified Mortgage Planning Specialist and a Certified Divorce Planning Professional, “I like to say, ‘People need more than a mortgage; they need a plan.’ So many people’s mortgages work at cross-purposes with their financial and personal goals and plans. Don’t let it happen to you.”


I am a national driving instructor for the Porsche Club of North America and have raced extensively across the country.  I live in Bloomfield with my wife, Dr. Dori Gatter, a psychotherapist in private practice in West Hartford.
